How Coordinating a Mission Transformed My Faith, Confidence, and Community Impact

The Journey to Becoming the 100 Families Coordinator
When I was called to become the coordinator of the 100 Families initiative, I had no idea how much this journey would transform my life. To step into this role, I traveled across the State of Michigan, raising my budget to cover my salary for the first year. It was a humbling yet empowering experience, taking me to places I never even knew existed. These opportunities allowed me to share God’s mission and vision for the ministry He has called me to lead.

Fundraising: A Lesson in Faith and Boldness
Raising funds to support the mission was one of the most challenging yet rewarding seasons of my life. It required boldness, persistence, and an unshakable faith. Each conversation and presentation taught me valuable lessons—not only about fundraising but about resilience. I learned to believe that a “no” was not a rejection of me but a rejection of God’s mission. This perspective gave me the confidence to keep moving forward, trusting that God would open the right doors at the right time.

Character Development That Fuels Leadership
The very skills I developed during my fundraising season—boldness, confidence, and resilience—are now serving me in my role as coordinator of 100 Families. Each week, I meet with new organizations, agencies, and community leaders, passionately presenting the vision of 100 Families. At the end of every conversation, I invite them to partner with us by signing up for the initiative. Some say yes, and others say no. Yet, my response remains the same: their decision is not a reflection of me, but of their role in God’s plan for our community.

Connecting Communities Through 100 Families
This role has given me the privilege of building bridges within our community. I have witnessed firsthand how organizations come together to support families in crisis, moving them from instability to thriving. Each connection, whether it results in a partnership or not, is an opportunity to share the mission of 100 Families and God’s transformative vision for our city.

Lessons Learned Along the Way
Becoming the coordinator of 100 Families has shown me that God equips us for the tasks He calls us to. Raising funds taught me resilience and trust, skills I now use daily as I advocate for families in need. Every “no” reminds me to lean on God’s provision and timing. Every “yes” is a celebration of what He is doing through this ministry.

Conclusion: The Mission Moves Forward
As I continue this journey, I am reminded that 100 Families is not just about connecting families to resources. It is about connecting people to God’s purpose and calling for their lives. This mission has not only transformed the lives of families but has also deeply transformed me. It is a testimony to the power of faith, boldness, and the unwavering belief in God’s vision for our community.
