Is the Pain Ever Going Away? Finding Purpose in the Pain of Injustice

By Eleanore Kue, MD Six Years Later, and the Pain Still Lingers It’s been six years since I lost everything I worked so hard for. A career built with sacrifice, dedication, and love—swept away by injustice. And still today, the pain hasn’t left me. I find myself wondering, Will this pain ever go away? When I share my story, I often walk away holding back tears. At random moments, grief creeps in like a shadow, and my heart aches all over again. It’s not just the loss that hurts—it’s the way it happened. Pain as a Reminder That Injustice Took Place Some pain stays because it should stay. Not to torment us—but to remind us. Injustice leaves a scar. And that scar is a sign that something wrong happened, something that should never be forgotten. It pushes me to keep fighting—not just for myself, but for others who have experienced the same kind of silent suffering. I believe that some pain is a call to action. It becomes fuel for advocacy, for truth, for justice. God’s Purpose Still Prevails Even in the midst of pain, I see God’s hand at work. What I’m doing now—serving families in crisis, bringing hope to the brokenhearted, speaking truth in love—is far greater than what I had planned for myself. As painful as it is, I believe with all my heart that God allowed it for a greater good. “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” — Genesis 50:20 (NIV) That verse is not just a promise—it’s the foundation I stand on. What was meant for evil, God is using for good. Pain Can Shape Us, But It Doesn’t Have to Stop Us I never want pain to become an excuse for bitterness or inaction. I want it to sharpen me, not silence me. God has a future for me—and for you. He doesn’t waste suffering. As long as I am still here, I will keep fighting for justice, standing for truth, and trusting that this battle belongs to the Lord. So if you’re asking the same question—Will the pain ever go away?—know this: it may never disappear entirely, but it can become a holy reminder that God is still writing your story. Finding Hope When the Pain Remains Maybe your loss is fresh. Maybe, like me, years have passed and the ache still lingers. Either way, don’t let the pain paralyze you. Let it lead you closer to the heart of God. Keep walking. Keep hoping. Keep trusting. Because He will use it all—every tear, every scar, every battle—for His glory. What 100 Families Has Done in My Life

How Coordinating a Mission Transformed My Faith, Confidence, and Community Impact The Journey to Becoming the 100 Families Coordinator When I was called to become the coordinator of the 100 Families initiative, I had no idea how much this journey would transform my life. To step into this role, I traveled across the State of Michigan, raising my budget to cover my salary for the first year. It was a humbling yet empowering experience, taking me to places I never even knew existed. These opportunities allowed me to share God’s mission and vision for the ministry He has called me to lead. Fundraising: A Lesson in Faith and Boldness Raising funds to support the mission was one of the most challenging yet rewarding seasons of my life. It required boldness, persistence, and an unshakable faith. Each conversation and presentation taught me valuable lessons—not only about fundraising but about resilience. I learned to believe that a “no” was not a rejection of me but a rejection of God’s mission. This perspective gave me the confidence to keep moving forward, trusting that God would open the right doors at the right time. Character Development That Fuels Leadership The very skills I developed during my fundraising season—boldness, confidence, and resilience—are now serving me in my role as coordinator of 100 Families. Each week, I meet with new organizations, agencies, and community leaders, passionately presenting the vision of 100 Families. At the end of every conversation, I invite them to partner with us by signing up for the initiative. Some say yes, and others say no. Yet, my response remains the same: their decision is not a reflection of me, but of their role in God’s plan for our community. Connecting Communities Through 100 Families This role has given me the privilege of building bridges within our community. I have witnessed firsthand how organizations come together to support families in crisis, moving them from instability to thriving. Each connection, whether it results in a partnership or not, is an opportunity to share the mission of 100 Families and God’s transformative vision for our city. Lessons Learned Along the Way Becoming the coordinator of 100 Families has shown me that God equips us for the tasks He calls us to. Raising funds taught me resilience and trust, skills I now use daily as I advocate for families in need. Every “no” reminds me to lean on God’s provision and timing. Every “yes” is a celebration of what He is doing through this ministry. Conclusion: The Mission Moves Forward As I continue this journey, I am reminded that 100 Families is not just about connecting families to resources. It is about connecting people to God’s purpose and calling for their lives. This mission has not only transformed the lives of families but has also deeply transformed me. It is a testimony to the power of faith, boldness, and the unwavering belief in God’s vision for our community.

When God Calls You to Lead — and They Try to Take It Away

When God Calls You to Lead — and They Try to Take It Away By Dr. Eleanore Kue, MD When the Calling Is Bigger Than the Title When God calls you to build something, not everyone will see what you see. Some will support you, others will question you, and a few may try to redirect your path. But calling doesn’t come from people — it comes from God. And when the assignment is divine, you can’t hand it over just because others don’t understand it. The Weight of Leadership as a Black Woman of Faith As a Black woman leading in spaces where few look like me, I’ve learned that excellence doesn’t always erase bias. Sometimes, the very success God brings becomes a source of discomfort for others. It’s painful when your vision is minimized or your voice is overlooked, not because of a lack of skill or fruit, but because of unspoken prejudice. Yet even then, God whispers, “Stand firm. I called you — not them.” The Cornerstone Rejected, Yet Chosen “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” — Psalm 118:22 That scripture reminds me that rejection can be redirection. God often uses the very moments that hurt to reveal His sovereignty. When people try to move you aside, He reminds you that no one can replace the hand He placed on your life. Fruit Speaks Louder Than Fear I’ve learned that outcomes reveal obedience. When families move from crisis to stability, when churches unite to serve the poor, when lives are transformed — those are not human achievements; they’re the fingerprints of God. You don’t need to defend yourself when the fruit speaks. You just need to stay faithful. To Every Black Woman Called to Lead To my sisters who’ve been told they’re too bold, too strong, or too confident — know this: your authority is not arrogance; it’s anointing. You don’t have to shrink to make others comfortable. God designed you to lead with both compassion and courage. When you stand in obedience, you give others permission to do the same. Choosing Forgiveness, Walking in Faith I choose forgiveness. I choose to walk in grace. Not because the pain wasn’t real, but because bitterness would only hinder the work God has placed before me. The mission is greater than the offense. And when the focus stays on the One who called you, He’ll handle every battle you don’t have to fight. Strengthened for the Mission Ahead This season has strengthened my faith and sharpened my vision for the 100 Families Initiative — a movement rooted in faith, hope, and community transformation. Every obstacle has become an altar where I’ve seen God’s faithfulness. And I believe He’s not just rebuilding families — He’s also raising up leaders who will not bow to fear, bias, or injustice. Call to Action: If you believe in building communities where faith and justice meet, join us through the 100 Families Initiative — where we walk alongside families to restore hope, dignity, and stability.
