Transforming Lives Through Coaching: Dr. Eleanore Kue’s Impact on the 100 Families Initiative

Dr. Eleanore Kue's

By Dr. Eleanore Kue Why Coaching Matters Coaching has been a transformative force in my life and ministry. It’s not just about guidance or accountability; it’s about empowering others to unlock their God-given potential. As I reflect on the success of the 100 Families initiative, I see coaching as a cornerstone of our impact. Early in my ministry, I came across a statistic that struck a chord: ministers with a coach tend to stay longer in ministry. This insight changed my approach to leadership and service. It led me to reach out to my district office, where I was connected with Mary Selzer, a coach who would profoundly shape my life. My Personal Journey with Coaching When I first met Mary, I didn’t know the depth of transformation her coaching would bring. We began with in-person sessions, which soon transitioned to regular phone calls. Week by week, Mary guided me with wisdom and grace, helping me navigate challenges and build confidence. She didn’t do the work for me, but she helped me recognize my strengths and align them with God’s purpose for my life. Even today, Mary remains my coach, and as my assignments have grown more diverse, I’ve added other coaches to my life—each bringing unique insights to specific areas of ministry, leadership, and advocacy. Coaching in the 100 Families Initiative As the Coordinator of the 100 Families initiative and Medical Director of His Healing Hands Clinic, I’ve found myself stepping into the role of a coach for the families we serve. Coaching is at the heart of what we do. It’s about coming alongside families in crisis, guiding them as they take ownership of their journey, and helping them discover their God-given potential. I strive to be a kind and steady voice, leading families not by doing the work for them, but by showing them how to move forward with courage and faith. This approach mirrors what Mary did for me: empowering people to embrace their unique strengths and trust God’s plan for their lives. The Impact of Coaching on Families Since the launch of the 100 Families initiative, we’ve witnessed incredible transformations. Families like Lakiva Osborne’s, a mother of eight moving toward stability with the help of our program, demonstrate the power of holistic support combined with coaching. Through partnerships with organizations like East Side Community Action, local churches, and the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing, we help families access resources, build life skills, and grow spiritually. Coaching amplifies these efforts by fostering trust, resilience, and hope. Why Coaching is Essential for Success The success of 100 Families goes beyond services and resources—it’s rooted in relationships. Coaching builds those relationships by encouraging trust, accountability, and collaboration. In my role, I’ve seen how coaching helps families not only overcome immediate challenges but also lay the foundation for long-term stability and purpose. This aligns with the mission of 100 Families: to address the root causes of poverty and empower families to thrive. Join Us in Transforming Lives Coaching has changed my life, and now I use it as a tool to help change the lives of others. A Blessed Sunday at Haiti Nazarene Church: Dr. Eleanore Kue and the Impact of 100 Families

Dr. Eleanore Kue and the Impact of 100 Families

Dr. Eleanore Kue and the Impact of 100 Families Giving Thanks for Their Support Last Sunday, I had the privilege of worshiping with the wonderful congregation at Haiti Nazarene Church in Lansing. It was a day filled with gratitude and inspiration as I thanked them for their incredible support and partnership in helping to pre-launch the 100 Families initiative. Their contributions have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life, and I am deeply appreciative of their commitment to making a difference. What Is 100 Families? For those unfamiliar, 100 Families is a transformative initiative designed to help families in crisis move toward stability and long-term success. Through a holistic approach, we collaborate with churches, organizations, and community leaders to address root causes of poverty and empower families to thrive. Since its pre-launch, we’ve already assisted families in improving housing stability, gaining access to essential resources, and connecting with organizations that provide critical support. An Invitation to Serve and Support During the service, I invited the congregation to connect with us if anyone in their community was struggling or in need. To my joy, five passionate members of the church rose up to join the mission. These individuals will soon begin training as Family Advocates, equipping them to work directly with families within their church, offering guidance, resources, and hope. Their commitment to serving their community is a testament to the spirit of unity and love that defines Haiti Nazarene Church. The Power of Partnership This partnership is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when churches and communities come together for a common cause. I left feeling immensely blessed and inspired by the worship, fellowship, and the church’s readiness to make a difference. Join the Mission If you or your church would like to learn more about how 100 Families can impact your community or if you’re interested in becoming a Family Advocate, please reach out to us. Breaking Chains, Building Hope: Justice in Action Through Faith

Injustice has a way of silently weaving itself into the fabric of our systems, leaving countless families in crisis and despair. For many, justice feels like a far-off dream, buried beneath layers of bureaucracy and societal indifference. But as the words of Isaiah 58:6-7 remind us, we are called to break these chains and to set the oppressed free. This is not just a lofty ideal; it is a tangible mission—a call to action for every one of us. Justice is not served by waiting for systems to change on their own. It is built brick by brick, through the hands and hearts of those willing to stand in the gap. Stories of Transformation Through initiatives like the 100 Families Initiative, we’ve witnessed the resilience of families who have faced unimaginable challenges. Whether it’s a mother regaining her independence after systemic failures or a child accessing life-saving resources for the first time, each story is a testament to the power of community and collaboration. These stories remind us that justice is not an abstract concept; it is deeply personal. It’s about restoring dignity to those who have been stripped of it and ensuring that every family, no matter their circumstances, has the opportunity to thrive. The Fight for Systemic Change True justice goes beyond individual stories. It requires us to confront the systemic inequities that perpetuate cycles of crisis. From advocating for fair healthcare practices to ensuring transparent licensing systems, the fight is far from easy. But we are not without hope. Every small victory—a policy change, a new resource allocation, or an expanded support network—creates ripples that move us closer to a just society. Fueling the Mission Through Faith Faith is the cornerstone of this mission. It’s what keeps us going when the road is tough and the obstacles seem insurmountable. The words of Isaiah 58:6-7 are more than just scripture; they are a blueprint for action. They remind us that justice is not just about what we do—it’s about who we are as people of faith. How You Can Make a Difference Justice is not the work of one person or organization. It’s a collective effort that thrives when we come together. Here’s how you can help: Volunteer: Offer your time and skills to initiatives that support families in crisis. Donate: Provide financial support to organizations fighting for justice. Raise Awareness: Share stories, resources, and advocacy campaigns in your community. Together, we can create a brighter future, one step at a time. Justice is within reach—but only if we are willing to reach for it. Closing Call to Action: Join us in breaking chains and building hope. Let’s embody the words of Isaiah and fight for a world where justice and compassion prevail. Subscribe to our blog for more updates and stories that inspire action.

Justice Advocacy: Advancing Equity in Healthcare

Injustice and inequity are not just societal issues; they deeply impact the healthcare system and the lives of patients and professionals alike. As a physician and advocate, I am committed to addressing systemic barriers and championing change to create a fair and inclusive healthcare environment. One significant step in this journey was the adoption of a resolution I authored by the National Medical Association (NMA), underscoring the urgency of this cause. The Resolution: Advocating for Fairness and Accountability The resolution I authored, adopted by the National Medical Association, focuses on addressing disparities and promoting equity in healthcare licensing, professional accountability, and oversight. It calls for: Investigation into Systemic Inequities: Encouraging transparency and fairness in the processes governing professional licensing and discipline, particularly for minority and foreign-trained physicians. Protection of Due Process: Advocating for safeguards to ensure that healthcare professionals are treated with impartiality and respect, preventing unjust penalties or bias. Promoting Diversity and Inclusion: Highlighting the need for representation in healthcare leadership to reflect the diverse communities served. Support for Minority Physicians: Offering resources and advocacy for those who face unique challenges due to systemic discrimination. Why This Matters Healthcare disparities and inequities in professional oversight not only harm individual careers but also undermine the quality of care delivered to underserved communities. Minority physicians often serve in high-need areas, providing care to vulnerable populations, yet face disproportionate challenges in their professional journeys. This resolution amplifies the voices of those affected by these issues and sets a precedent for actionable change, aligning with the NMA’s mission to advance the health and well-being of underserved populations. Impact and Vision The adoption of this resolution is a testament to the collective power of advocacy. It has: Sparked Conversations: Drawing attention to systemic inequities within professional licensing and oversight. Mobilized Action: Encouraging further investigations and reforms to ensure fairness and accountability. Inspired Hope: Demonstrating that change is possible when we come together to challenge injustice. This resolution is not just a policy—it’s a catalyst for a broader movement toward equity and justice in healthcare. How You Can Join the Cause Advocacy is a collective effort. Here’s how you can get involved: Stay Informed: Learn more about the challenges minority physicians and underserved communities face. Amplify the Message: Share this initiative with your networks to spread awareness. Support Reform: Encourage local and national leaders to prioritize equity in healthcare. Partner with Us: Join initiatives aimed at addressing systemic inequities and supporting underserved populations. A Call to Action Together, we can create a healthcare system that values diversity, promotes fairness, and upholds justice for all. The resolution adopted by the NMA is just the beginning. Let’s continue the work to break down barriers, challenge inequities, and build a future where every healthcare professional—and every patient—is treated with dignity and respect.

The 100 Families Initiative

Transforming Lives, Building Stability, Empowering Communities What is the 100 Families Initiative? The 100 Families Initiative is a collaborative, community-driven effort dedicated to helping families move from crisis to stability. Rooted in faith and fueled by compassion, the initiative aims to address the root causes of poverty and provide families with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive. By connecting families with churches, organizations, and advocates, we empower them to achieve holistic well-being. Our Mission To break the cycle of poverty by offering a holistic approach that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs while equipping families to overcome challenges and achieve self-sufficiency. Inspired by Proverbs 31:8-9—“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy”—our mission is to create lasting impact by uplifting families and building stronger communities. How It Works The initiative is centered on a personalized and collaborative approach: Assessment: Families are evaluated in 13 key areas that influence their overall health and stability. Action Plan: A customized plan is created to address immediate needs and long-term goals. Collaboration: Families are connected with resources through partnerships with churches, nonprofits, and community organizations. Advocacy: Family advocates walk alongside families, offering support and guidance as they work toward their goals. Spiritual Growth: Families are linked with local churches for discipleship and spiritual support. Our Impact Since its pre-launch in July 2024, the 100 Families Initiative has already: Supported 16 families, with 2 moving from crisis to stability. Partnered with over 28 organizations. Connected families with local churches to provide community and spiritual growth. One success story involves JD, a father of four children, three of whom have disabilities. Through the initiative, JD’s family received support from multiple organizations to restore electricity and stabilize their household, allowing them to move toward a brighter future. Why 100 Families? The goal is to reach 100 families by 2025, offering them the opportunity to break free from crisis and achieve stability. Each family represents not just individuals but entire communities that can benefit from this transformative process. By addressing the root causes of poverty and building lasting support systems, the initiative creates ripples of change that extend far beyond the immediate families. How You Can Help Volunteer: Become a family advocate or offer your skills to support the initiative. Partner: Join as a church, nonprofit, or business to expand resources and opportunities. Donate: Help sustain this mission with a financial gift. Pray: Lift up families in crisis and the team working to support them.
